Please Return To....

"Ever since my twelfth (birthday), I've been looking forward to my sweet sixteen." - Samantha, Sixteen Candles

Although this is not a wedding related post, I thought I would share the cupcake toppers I recently made for my cousin's Sweet 16. In honor of her birthday, her family got her a pair of beautiful Tiffany & Co. earrings so her mom (my aunt) asked us to make cupcakes in Tiffany blue. My cousin, sister and I made it our mission to make the best cupcakes we knew how. Since none of us are experts with  fondant (although we tried), we opted for creative and cute cupcake toppers, paired with edible pearls and sparkles for a professional look. We also used Tiffany & Co. boxes to create our own cupcake stand. Check them out below.

As another surprise for Alyssa's 16th birthday, I made her a 'fake ID' and presented it to her at dinner. She successfully attained her G1 (driver's permit) that day so it was perfect.

Thanks for letting me be a part of your special celebration Shorty.  Love you!

Yours Truly,

A

Best in Brunch

"There are very few things this New Yorker loves as much as Sunday brunch. You can sleep until noon and still get eggs anywhere in the city, alcohol is often included with the meal, and Sunday is the one day a week you get the single woman's sports pages: the New York Times wedding section." - Carrie Bradshaw, Sex in the City

As A very thoughtfully reported, yesterday was my 28th b'day. In lieu of the typically awkward Saturday night dinner at a long resto table (come on, we all know what I'm referring to here), I decided to toast to my birth with a Sunday brunch.

The afternoon was filled with breakfast inspired petites and daytime cocktails, and let's not forget the fabulous company (minus a few of my fave people who are...'geographically challenged')!

Here's a sneak peek at the spread;

Thanks to all my wonderful family and friends for celebrating with me!

Sincerely,

S

Cupcakes, Sprinkles and Balloons, Oh My!

"The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age." - Lucille ball

Today marks S's 28th birthday and her first as a wife! My vivacious, high-spirited, fun-loving, witty and courageous friend and I have been by each other's sides for 22 years and I know we will continue to share in memories together for another lifetime. We have always been closer than close but when we thought we couldn't have any more in common, we each got engaged.  No two people share the same love we do for weddings, parties and any excuse for a new outfit.  I love how our passions have grown together and we have learned so much from each other through the last year in the planning and (bo) blogging.

S hosted a birthday brunch in honour of her special day yesterday and had me suffering from a serious case of FOMO (fear of missing out).  From what I hear she outdid herself again with a spread filled with yumminess and decor that only she could pull off.  S, I hope you enjoyed a glass of bubbly and a slice of cake to celebrate just how special you are.  I know I speak for many when I ask you to share pictures - soon.

Happy Birthday to the most beautiful red-headed ankle biter (I had to) out there! I love you dearly and wish you only happiness today and always.

Our B'day-Gal Friday

"The way I see it, you should treat everyday like it's your birthday." - Paris Hilton

TGIF! But today not only marks the start of the weekend; today we celebrate the birthday of our dear buddy, JM. Pals since the early days of elementary, with enough memories to last a lifetime, we raise our glass (of diet coke, of course), and toast to the 28th birthday of a truly wonderful friend (slightly emotional at times, this is where JM begins to get a little misty eyed).

One more candle on that Loblaws cake...Happy JM Day!!!

Until next time,

A & S

HB to my MOB!

My wedding was the absolute highlight of my life. The entire day was perfection, and the journey leading up to it as equally amazing, and my Mom is most definitely to thank for that!

I'd like to wish a very happy birthday to my Mama; the world's greatest MOB and simply the best mother and friend I could ever ask for! Love you, Mom!

Sincerely,

S

Birthday Bride!

Exactly 27 years ago today, the world was introduced to A!

The beautiful bride-to-be (and my partner in crime) is celebrating her b’day in style (obviously) and I wish I could be there to join in the festivities (why can’t they move Toronto and Montreal geographically closer together…why?!). JM and I plan on poppin’ some fizzy bubs and eating Loblaws cake in your honour!

So here’s to my bestie – wishing you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY and may all of your dreams come true (which they undoubtedly will this coming February…did I mention less than 3 months away to the BIG DAY! Wojtek Wolski for Mr. X!).

The Birthday Girl

I love you, A!

Happy Birthday to the FOB!!

"I used to think a wedding was a simple affair. Boy and girl meet, they fall in love, he buys a ring, she buys a dress, they say I do. I was wrong. That's getting married. A wedding is an entirely different proposition. I know. I've just been through one. Not my own, my daughter's."  George Banks

I wanted to give a huge birthday shoutout to my Dad! Without you my wedding would be nothing more than a dream.

I love you and am thankful for everything you do!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Yours truly,

A (aka your baby girl)
